Although there are significant multiplayer elements in the Tortage area this article will focus as much as possible on the Solo-play ...also known as Tortage: Nightime because of several factors. First, This is a new AOC Gold game and has a LOT of people interested in playing. As such, these levels can become VERY crowded when this AOC Gold game is released as well as every time a new server is released. Competition for resources may be frustrating to some. Second, the play on the PvP servers can be very grueling. Grief is commonplace, as such you will level faster if you spend as much time in the solo-play instances and then leave for the wider more expansive zones you'll find after Tortage.

Funcom's developers regularly update the Age of Conan as the AOC Gold game evolves. These updates are delivered with software patches to the online game via Level 3's CDN and need to be delivered smoothly to not interrupt the participation in the AOC Gold game by hundreds of thousands of Age of Conan Gold players. During the first 60 days of the Age of Conan launch, the Level 3 CDN delivered over 2 petabytes (the equivalent of over 1 million high-quality online movies) of AOC Gold game patch updates to the Age of Conan Gold players. "We are pleased to collaborate with Funcom to deliver the scalable

Bringing to an end the long wait for fans not only of massively multiplayer online games, but also of Robert E. Howard's classic work, Funcom has announced that Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures has shipped for the PC (technically yesterday).

It's been a very long wait for everybody and From here on outwards we can all enjoy ourselves in Hyboria.

"The Age of Conan was developed with the latest technologies to be the next generation of massive multi-player online games (MMOG)," said Ole Schreiner, vice president of operations at Funcom. "Funcom needed a Tier 1 CDN provider that could provide the quality, dependability and scalability to support critical game patch update files at all times.

This is a pretty important question you need to consider. Some players like to play through a game solo and enjoy it as more of a single player experience. You get the benefit of not answering to anyone, and you set your own play times, and experience the game at your pace. You have no allegiances and you can just enjoy your random interactions with all the players around you. Or you may decide you want to be part of a community and develop slightly more involved relationships with other gamers. DO you want to work together to achieve bigger goals, and act as a team? When doing this you should consider what type of team you're looking for. Are you interested in mainly PVP? PVE? A social /casual environment? A crafter heavy society? Figure out the top 3 things you want from a guild before approaching one to join.

Age of Conan allows for a limited time single player experience, which you can use to get accustomed to the game, user interface and controls. Of course it's not all about learning, plenty of adventure also awaits you during this time. In the single player portion of Age of Conan you may still communicate with others on the same server. Although you may spend as long as you like exploring the beach and jungle, you should be able to reach the city of Tortage within an hour, at which time you will begin to see other players. Once you hit Tortage you are able to switch between the single player story (night) and multiplayer stories (day) freely.

By default your Health Bar is located above the Toolbar at the bottom of your screen. The Health Bar is symbolized by a red strip, with a green strip below it; or if you are a magic caster a green and blue strip below it. The green strip is your Stamina and the blue strip is Mana. When your health is depleted in combat your red bar will begin to empty. Just as the stamina bar will begin to empty as you use up energy for performing combos, and the mana bar will begin to empty as you cast spells. When you engage an enemy their Health Bar will also be viewable so that you may see how close to defeating them you are.
